The VW bus has been sitting in the same place for the past two years, getting none of anyone's attention. A lot of dirt has been accumulating everywhere, and the rust has been slowly increasing and eating away the body of the van in many different places. On Monday, I went to wash the van, and I did a preliminary assessment of the current condition of the vehicle. I noticed different places where the rust has been getting larger, and in particular I noticed that, in the engine compartment, the support for the battery is almost gone. The entire support for the battery has fallen to the ground and disintegrated.
For now, I will not worry much about the rust and corrosion, and I will focus on the mechanical aspect of the engine, which looks pretty much the same as it did two years ago.
