Original Electric VW Bus

Browsing ads at The Samba today, I've found out that in 1979 Volkswagen and Siemens, in a joint venture, produced 70 electric buses for trial marketing. One of the very few remaining is for sale, and this is what the ad reads:

This is one of the few remaining - and in tact as original. I even have the orginal owners manual with electrical diagrams, etc. Takes 24 batteries (6v), so is 144 volt operation. Come with 220V quick charger and 110V on-board charging. Even has brake regeneration, so very sophisticated for the period. Unfortunately you will need to bring your own 24 batteries to take it for a test run. If planning to ship, keep in mind that this does not run and is quite heavy to push since it has a full set of batteries on board.
